Bonus Problem #1

A 90° angle forms between the hands of an analog clock at the times of  9 o’clock and 3 o’clock. Find another time, other than the above mentioned ones, whose angle is also 90°. There are several times that will yield an angle measure of 90°. Show all work. Explain your reasoning.

(Hint: The times that form a right angle will require the minutes to the nearest hundredths place or minutes and seconds.)

 

1.      You may work together on the problem, but each student must submit a solution to receive any credit.

2.      You may contact me for a hint, but each hint will reduce your points earned by 1 point.

3.      The problem solution is due in class on Wednesday, 20 June 2007, at the beginning of the hour.

4.  Solutions should be neatly written using complete sentences.

 

 

One further note: this problem is not simple, thus, the reason it can count as a BONUS PROBLEM.
